Barack Obama have never been a Muslim, nor have he even attended a Muslim school, or whatever those rumor-mongering people would like you to believe.  Funny as it sound, it was a false report writ large, due to his Islamic-like name, and its close relations with Bush’s two nemeses.

Seriously, to blindly follow into some kind of a belief system based on your value is horrendous.  Obama is far more religious than McCain.  He has the guts to decry the absence of black fathers’ role in children’s upbringing.  He’s strong on education, self-sufficiency, and responsibility.  So what do the religious leaders do?  They all flock behind McCain who does not appear to hold the same value, calling him “the lesser of two evils.”

The lesser of two evils?  Oh, right… they both support abortion, stem cell research, and gay rights.  Never mind the pesky little thing we call parenthood, demanding that parents do right for their kids, or any of those silly things.

It is about time we move on to the real issues that is causing issues in this country of our — hatred, ignorance, and elitism — and focus on what is right — love, support, and making sure that your children succeed far more than you ever would.

Maybe McCain is the right person to lead us for those areas.  But we will not really find out, because he’s simply the “lesser of two evils” based on some very small situations that are just a fringe and very highly fractious issues.  One support abortion, another doesn’t.  Does this change America?  Not as much as supporting some manner of self-sufficiency, building a better life, and together, building a better country.

I believe he was a former Muslim. I don’t trust him.

If you would read the article that you pasted, you would realize that you are just being stupid.

    Yes, stupid.

Please look up in a dictionary on what “Liaison” means. In fact, let me do it for you:

“the contact or connection maintained by communications between units of the armed forces or of any other organization in order to ensure concerted action, cooperation, etc.”

Basically, he is hiring a person who he would use as a sounding board to discuss issues that affects those who follows the Koran.

If you would travel beyond your little secular homes, you would also realize that there are so many different cultures out there, with its own rules and behaviors.

In Greece, for example, you don’t wave toward the person to say “good bye.” It’s an insult. You wave toward yourself.

What Obama is simply doing here is trying to gain a better understanding for people who follows a different holy book (and in fact believe in the same God Christians and Jews do.)

Would he need to do that if he’s a Muslim already?

Please read up an interesting article from Shireen Burki. She and Obama have very similar upbringings (read her bio on the 2nd page of the article). According to the article, since Obama’s father was a Muslim, Barack was born as a Muslim under Islamic jurisprudence and Obama would be considered as a “murtad fitri” in the eyes of fundamentalist Muslims.

According to Islamic jurisprudence, children of a Muslim father – even an apparently nonpracticing one, such as Obama’s father, and irrespective of the mother’s faith – are automatically Muslims. Most Muslims around the world agree: A child of a Muslim father is a Muslim. Period.

I would rather Obama be more honest in acknowledging his actual religious birthright from his father than to continually skirt around the issue and let his PR people do the talking and slamming people who saw through the falsehood.

In the eyes of Muslim fundamentalists, you are correct.

But it is not a valid observation, since we are a country of individuals, with the freedom to choose which religion we can be afflicted with.

It is just as silly as the Jewish belief that a child of a (even non-practicing) Jewish mother is a Jew, even if that person doesn’t follow that faith. By that observation, Jesus is a Jewish person, even though he’s the “founder” (actually it was his disciples, but that’s another subject) of a new religious faith.

Obama’s father is a non-practicing Muslim, basically born into it. Obama is by far a non-practicing muslim, considering his observations. To label him as a Muslim is only used by pundits to slander him.

By that measure, if I declare Adam and Eve a Satanists, and children of satanists are all satanists, we are all satanists. Would that fly? No. Neither will this.

In a secular society, Obama’s religion is irrelevant to the public perception, it’s his personal choice to practice his religion for his own spiritual benefits. However, it won’t matter in the eyes of the Islamic fundamentalists who are stickler for Islamic jurisprudence and codes to the letter, particularly with those from the Mideast.

However, you must keep in mind that he’s running for the President of the United States, a nation of many different backgrounds and upbringings among peoples, not a country under only one religion. His religious origin and upbringing will be a certain issue with those who find Islam (or his association with the Trinity Church, though he’s no longer involved with them) entirely disagreeable or unacceptable. Radical Islamists may find Obama as an useful asset to promote Islam in America through different (and questionable) means, counting on the fact that he has a sympathetic upbringing with Muslims over the years.

In America, you have the freedom to choose. In few strict Islamic countries, not many peoples have that option, their only choice is Islam, unfortunately.
