Today begins the start of my travel after three weeks of working from home.  My exercise program is pretty much hastly put together with no rhyme or rhythm.  Since traveling is a major component of my job, any exercise programs need to keep that aspect in mind.

It is my plans to do the full gamut of Yoga/Aerobic exercise every morning I am home (usually Friday to Sunday), and 20-40 minutes of exercise in any hotel weight rooms.  That would require that I consistently get up on time every morning, which could be a challenge for myself.

Wish me luck.  :-)

Yesterday Wii Fit - 38 years, 30 minutes.

Today Wii Fit -35 years, 30 minutes.

The one thing about Wii Fit that one will have to be careful about:  Eat enough protein, especially immediately after doing the exercise.  I don’t have many sources of protein here in this house (Want some edamame?  How about some pork?) and lately I’m starting to really feel very tired in the morning.

I just broke 10 hours, and got a gold pig as a result.  I wonders if I’ll get bacons in the postal mail if I break 1,000 hours.  ;-)

Cat naps actually do work surprisingly well.  Perhaps I am just so tired that I need to have more sleep than usual until my body adjust to the new exercise regime.  I also dialed back a bit on the exercise lately, just to give myself an opportunity to adjust.  I do not have much ache and pains, just tireness from time to time.

It is one thing that sucks about working from home — I don’t seem to go out as often as I should, if only to be a bit social.  It’ve gotten to the point where I’ve postponed my visit to the grocery store until the last minute (read:  I need to go now.)

So on that note, I bid you a great weekend.

Yesterday - Wii Fit: Age 32, 40 minutes.

Today - Wii Fit: Age 32, 45 minutes.

I really sucks at planks.  Not only do you have to hold on for dear life, you also have to be STEADY doing it.  Not steady = 0 points.  Bah!

Well, we made it official in our own way — I now have a wonderful lover.  I do hope that life will progress in such a positive way in the future to the point where we can be one.  The funny thing about this — Despite having a new lover, I am still fretting over finding a landscaper to clean up my yard.  Fun fun.  I can say one thing:  I Feel Love!

Wii Fit:  Age 38 (I stepped down on a balance test), Time: 30 minutes (Basic - 6 min Hula hoop, 10 min rhythm boxing, and 10 minutes free run.)

Here’s another problem with Wii Fit — Free Run and Free Step are meant to allow for someone to watch something else while jogging or stepping.  Cool in concept but discriminary to deaf people.  They rely on the speaker on the wiimote to inform you if you’re running fast or slow.  They should be using vibrations to emphasie the point, as we can feel by vibration whether we’re doing something correctly or incorrectly.  Why omit the vibration when it’s used in the regular games?

Again, a huge opening here, someone better be taking notes here!

Wii Fit - Age 34, Time 40 minutes.

Another complaint about the game — when you are off your feet (such as situps, planks, et cetera), it is impossible as a deaf person to know when to start the exercise, and whether you’re doing the exercise right without some kind of a mirror to the screen.  Hearing folks don’t have it much better — they would hear the “up…. down….” for only the first few reps of the set.  Beyond that, you’re on your own unless you fashion some way to see the screen without contorting your head outside where it should be during the exercise.

There is such a huge opening that Nintendo is leaving for anyone to develop a much better Wii Fit using the same balance board here.  Wii Fit is a great start, but if this is the end of what we’ll see in exercise programs, I would be greatly disappointed.

I would like to take a moment here and bid my dad a wonderful Father’s Day.  He just messaged me on AIM for the first time in a while.  Goooo sis, for training the poor man!  :-)
