Well, the movers are coming tomorrow to bring my new roommate’s stuff — surprising the both of us. Cash, her cat, have settled down, only to be disrupted by an invitation to a brand new cat – Mitten.

Mitten was named as such due to her interesting birth defects with her feet. I do not have the proper terms at hand, but she have thumbs, and not only that, she also have extra thumbs. She is pretty darn small for a 3 year old cat, as can be seen in the picture – barely reaching a pair of hands. Despite her size, her voice is extremely loud, and quite varied! She would meow, whine, grunt, growl, hiss, and more, in an attempt to tell you what she wants.
Her previous staff member had unfortunately passed away. She also somehow gotten out, and got herself pregnant. Unfortunately, the humane society need to have her neutered, and the decision was made to abort her fetus, and have her neutered.
Now let me tell you about the Arizona Humane Society — it was one of the most beautiful building I have ever seen dedicated to pets. It is a clear sign that they are doing very well in their task in trying to ensure that our fellow creatures are saved, taken care of, and given to loving families. There were so many kittens available there, and one was spotted by us. However, I didn’t feel that it was the right cat for me, due to its extremely skittish nature. We were about to go, when I decided to have one last look, and I saw her. She was very, VERY talktive even behind the plexiglass wall, as her caretaker was taking care of the area.
Unlike the other kitten, she was clearly very affectionate, and quite curious. I sense an intelligence in her, and can tell that she was previously well taken care of, most likely by an elder person.
So I am her new staff member, and I hope I will serve her well. Cash and Mitten are still adjusting to each other. Mitten is still recovering from the surgery, but I am sure that by Thursday night, she will belt out a good yell at me, demanding to know where I have been.
